How to Get my Webcam to Work on the T22 Laptop

The IBM Thinkpad T22 laptop is a Windows-based portable computer that functions just like any other PC. It allows you to connect a variety of different hardware to the laptop, including a webcam if you choose. With a connected webcam installed you can record contents onto the laptop or even perform video chats with friends, family members and co-workers.

Things You'll Need

• IBM Thinkpad T22 laptop
• Webcam
• Driver installation CD
• Software installation CD

Instructions

1. Connect the USB cable running out of the webcam into one of the available USB ports on your IBM T22 laptop computer. In a moment the computer should state it has detected a new device.

2. Insert the driver installation CD. Without the driver the computer does not possess the ability to use the webcam. After few seconds the driver installation wizard appears on the screen. Accept any license agreement that pops up, then click "Next" for both the installation name and location. Click "Install" and the drivers install onto your computer.

3. Eject the driver installation CD and insert the software installation CD. When the installation wizard appears, follow the brief prompts to install the software.

4. Launch the software you just installed and point the webcam towards the content you want to focus on (more than likely yourself). When the program opens, you can see the video from the webcam presented on the IBM Thinkpad T22's screen.
