How to Remove Baby Oil From Clothes
They're cute; they're cuddly; and they usually smell good, which is why we love to hold babies close. That great baby smell is owed, in part, to baby oil, which helps moisturize baby's hair, scalp and skin. Unfortunately, baby oil can easily stain clothing, whether you spill it on you while applying it to baby or it rubs off on you when you're giving her a little extra loving. Fortunately, you can remove the baby oil stain if you follow a few tips when treating it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Sprinkle corn starch over the baby oil stain, and let it sit for 15 minutes. The corn starch will help absorb the oil.
-
2
Brush corn starch off with a soft bristled toothbrush. Rinse the toothbrush after removing the corn starch.

3
Put heavy-duty liquid laundry detergent on the stain, and work it in with the toothbrush. Be sure to cover the stain completely. If you use powdered laundry detergent, mix the powder with just enough water to make a thin paste, and apply that paste to the stain. After working it into the stain, let the detergent sit and soak on the stain for 15 to 20 minutes.

Wash the garment in very hot water, with the additional amount of detergent recommended for a full load. For example, add a cap full of detergent to the load, in addition to the detergent that is already on the fabric. If hot water is not recommended for the fabric type, then wash the fabric in the recommended water temperature.

5
Examine the garment when you take it out of the washer. If you cannot tell if the stain is out while the garment is wet, let it air dry. If you still see the stain, repeat steps 3 and 4 until the baby oil stain is removed.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have corn starch, use baby powder, which is made with either talcum powder or corn starch.
If your fabric is hand wash only, don't put it in the washer. After pre-treating the baby oil stain, wash it according to tag instructions.
Never take a rag and rub the baby oil stain, as this can spread the stain.
