How to Make a Verizon DSL Modem Work With AT&T DSL Service
When using a DSL Internet connection all modems are interchangeable. This means you can use a Verizon-based DSL modem with an AT&T DSL connection. Doing so is no different than using a different brand DVD player with a television. The two are interchangeable and it does not matter who produces what device, as long as the cable connection is secure.

1
Insert the first Ethernet cable into the Ethernet wall port. If you have an older home that does not have an Ethernet port (it looks like a wider phone jack) you can obtain Ethernet adapters from your AT&T provider, typically for free. This turns the phone jack into an Ethernet port without taking over the phone line.
-
2
Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the "WAN" port on the Verizon DSL modem.
-
-
3
Connect the second Ethernet cable into one of the numbered "Out" ports on the Verizon DSL Internet modem. It does not matter which out port you use.
-
4
Insert the free end of the Ethernet cable into the "WAN" port on your computer. A green light appears on your computer where the cable is inserted. Power on the Verizon DSL modem and a series of lights appear on the modem. Wait until all of the lights have switched to green and are no longer blinking. This completes the connection process of the Verizon DSL modem with your AT&T DSL service.
