How to Install a Philips Webcam

Chat with relatives across the country using a properly configured webcam.

Webcams are great for chatting with family and friends around the globe. You can even use your webcam to become the next Internet sensation on video sites such as YouTube. However, without proper installation of the necessary drivers, your webcam will be useless. Luckily, installing the software is extremely easy, even if you've lost the included disc. Installation takes only a few minutes and you'll be video chatting in no time.

Things You'll Need

• Philips Webcam
• Philips Installation CD (optional)

Instructions

1. Insert the included CD into the computer's optical drive. If you do not have the CD, you can download the necessary software for your particular model by visiting the Philips support website at Philips.com/support.

2. The installation CD should auto-start, if it doesn't, double-click the CD within Windows Explorer. If you have downloaded the software, double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer. Select your language when prompted.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions. This will install the Philips software as well as the necessary drivers to allow your computer to interact with the webcam. Once the installation completes, restart the computer.

4. Connect the webcam using the included USB cable to an open USB slot on your computer. The webcam should be fully functional now. Run the installed Philips software to test it out.
