How to Convert a String to the Date & Time in MS Access 2003
Microsoft Access is a widely used database program for both home users and office workers, and the query function is one of the most useful features of the program. Queries return real-time data from the database, giving users up to the minute access to the information they need to make intelligent and informed decisions. Queries also allow users to display the data in a number of different formats, including date formats.

Log on to the computer and open your database file. Click on "Queries" to open the query window.

Choose "Create query in design view" and double-click the table or tables to be included in the query. Click each field that you want to display.

Move your cursor to the first empty column. In the "Field" section type "Text: CDate([FieldName])" where "FieldName" is the name of the field you want to convert. For instance, if your field name is called "OrderDate" you would type "Text: CDate([OrderDate])" in the box.

Click the "Save" icon on the toolbar to save your query. This is the icon that looks like a diskette. Give your query a distinctive name and click "OK." Double-click on your query and review the results.
