How to Put Videos on My RCA Opal
RCA designed the Opal as a budget-friendly portable media player. With its 1.5-inch full-color screen, the Opal lets you enjoy your favorite video clips and movies while on the go. It can store up to eight hours of video on its internal 2GB drive, according to RCA. All video files must first get converted to the Opal's .SMV video format before the player can display them. RCA includes an automatic converter program to make the conversion and transfer process a matter of just a couple clicks.

Turn the Opal on by pressing and holding the power button on its keypad for three seconds. While you're waiting for the device to start up, pull back the plastic tab on its side panel that covers its mini-USB port.

2
Plug the small end of the Opal's included USB cable into the port on the device. Connect the opposite end into any open USB port on your computer.

3
Launch the RCA Video Convert program. If you didn't install the program when you first started using the RCA Opal, install it now using the installation disk included with the Opal.
-
4
Click the check box on the bottom of the program's screen that reads "Transfer video output to OPAL."
-
5
Press "Browse." Locate the video file on your computer that you wish to put onto the RCA Opal, and click "Open." The software supports all common video file formats, including AVIs and unprotected WMAs. Alternatively, drag-and-drop the video file from your computer onto the video converter's screen. The software will automatically convert the file into an .SMV file and transfer it onto the Opal's drive.

Watch the video on your Opal after it's been automatically converted and transferred. Press the "M" button on the Opal's keypad twice to bring up the device's home screen. Use the arrows to scroll down to "Video." Review all the video files currently on the player. Click any title to begin playing it.
