Instructions

    • 1

Set your iron to the silk or delicate setting.

    • 2

Look at your window and decide how much coverage you want from your new curtains. Decide how long and how wide you need the panels to be. Use a measuring tape to find the exact measurements.

    • 3

Cut a piece of fabric to match the measurements you want, adding 2 inches to the width and 5 inches to the height. Cut as many panels as you need for your window.

    • 4

Fold each side of your panels inward an inch to make hems. Iron the folds to crease the hems all the way around the panels.

    • 5

Place a strip of hem tape the whole length of the panel, under each fold. Fold the fabric back down over them and press firmly with your iron to seal the folds to the hem tape.

    • 6

Add a space for a curtain rod to slide into each panel, if you are hanging the curtains on a rod. If you are using curtain clips, your curtain is ready to hang.
To make space for a curtain rod, fold the top of the panel down 3 inches and place a strip of seam tape along the very edge, all the way across. Iron it in place as you did with the hems. This will create an open section of fabric into which you can slide the rod.
