How to Transfer Pictures From a Computer to a Memory Disk
Since most cameras are digital, people can easily collect hundreds or thousands of pictures on their computers. To clear up some of your computer's drive space, you can transfer or download those pictures to another medium. You can transfer your pictures to CD using Windows Media Player, or drag and drop your pictures to a flash drive or portable hard drive.

Transfer Pictures to a CD

Open Windows Media Player.

Select the "Burn" tab.

Drag and drop your image files into the burn list on the left side of the interface.

Insert your CD into the CD or DVD drive. Your CD and any current contents (if it is not empty) will be displayed in the right side of the interface.

Select the type of CD you want to burn from the menu toward the top of the right side of the interface. (You will want to select "Data CD." By default, "Audio CD" may be selected.) Then select "Yes" to confirm that you want to burn a data CD.

Select the "Start Burn" icon in the top-left side of the interface. Your images will now be transferred to the CD.
Transfer Pictures to a Flash Drive

Plug in your flash drive.

Select the "Start" menu.

Click on "My Computer," then locate your flash drive folder. You can double-click on the flash drive folder to locate a particular folder on the device where you would like to drop your files. To create a new folder within your flash drive, right-click inside the folder and select "New Folder" from the drop-down menu.

Drag and drop the pictures from your computer to your flash drive, or to a folder inside the flash drive.
Transfer Pictures to a Portable Hard Drive

Plug in your portable hard drive using a USB cable.

Select the "Start" menu, then select "My Computer."

Locate your portable hard drive folder. Double-click to open it if you wish to save your photos inside of a certain folder within the drive.

Drag and drop your pictures into the hard drive folder, or into a folder on the hard drive.
