1
Remove all the window treatments and send them out to the dry cleaner or wash as usual. These window treatments should not be put back up until the rest of the room has been cleaned to avoid recontaminating your window treatments with dirt and dust.
-
2
Wash down the walls with soap and water on a large sponge. Be sure to follow up with a dry cloth to keep the walls dry after washing to avoid mold from growing.
-
-
3
Dust all of the furniture carefully. Use a vacuum for hard to reach places.
-
4
Wash the floors as you normally would. If your floors are particularly dirty, you may want to wash the floors several times.
-
5
Wash the windows. Vinegar and water is a great window cleaning solution.
-
6
Put an air-filter in the room to get out any airborne dust that may take days to settle.
-
7
Open the windows to get fresh air. If possible, put in a window fan on reverse to pull out the dust from the room. Dust can stay airborne for days and this will be really helpful in controlling the dust in your rooms.
