Format your Samsung D900 memory card.

The Samsung SGH-D900 is a cell phone that allows you to listen to music, take photos and stay connected to your home or office. Even though the phone has an internal memory, you need extra storage for those impromptu photos and your favorite music. For this, the D900 has a memory card slot that allows you to use a micro SD card to expand memory capacity. Before using the D900's memory card, you must first format it on the device itself.

Instructions

    • 1

      Power on your Samsung D900.

    • 2

Locate the memory card slot on the left side of your Samsung D900. It is the lowest slot, next to the keypad.

    • 3

Insert your micro SD card into the memory card slot. Gently press it into the slot until it clicks into place.

    • 4

Press the "Menu" key, which is the left soft key, and then choose "My Files" from the Menu folder.

    • 5

Choose "Memory Card." When the memory card screen appears, press the button under "Options," which is the left soft key.

    • 6

Choose "Settings" from the memory card Options menu, and then choose "Format Card."

    • 7

Confirm that you wish to format the card by pressing the left soft key under "Yes." Within moments your memory card will be formatted and you can return to the phone's main menu.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even though a memory card can be formatted on a computer, it is best to do it on the device that will be using the card. This assures you that the card will have the necessary file types for the phone to read properly.

  • Do not touch the metal contacts on your micro SD card, as it can interfere with how well your phone reads the card.
