Using Bluetooth is a quick and easy way to send music files from your PC to your phone wirelessly. Many phones now come with Bluetooth connection, which makes this one of the easiest options for all kinds of file transfers. Some PCs come with Bluetooth, but if they don't you have the option of buying an external Bluetooth device that will enable Bluetooth on it.

  1. Installing the Bluetooth Dongle

      Turn on the PC. Insert the Bluetooth Dongle into the USB port.

      Wait for the program to auto run; a box should appear, reading "Installing Device Driver Software."

      Follow the onscreen directions to complete the installation.

    Syncing the Devices

      Open the "Control Panel" from the Start menu, then navigate to "Network and Internet." Select "Set up a Bluetooth enabled device."

      Click "Add." Turn on your cell phone and go to the main menu. Go to your Bluetooth option and enable it.

      Select "My device is set up and ready to be found" on the PC, and click "Next."Select the cell phone from the list of available devices, then select "Next."

      Enter the passkey when prompted. You can enter the passkey that came with the device, choose your own or let Windows create one for you, then click "Next." The cell phone will ask if you want to connect to the computer, select "Yes" and enter the same passkey as you did on your computer. Continue to follow the onscreen prompts until the installation is complete.

    Transferring the Music

      Locate the music file that you want to send to your cell phone and right-click it.

      Select "Send To" then "Bluetooth Device." The Bluetooth wizard will open, when it does, click "Browse."

      Choose your cell phone from the list and click "OK." Your phone will display a message asking if you want to accept the connection; click "Yes."

      Click the finish button when you're finished. You can repeat this action for as many files as you want to send.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you have enough room on your SD card in your phone to receive the amount of songs you're sending over.

  • If you are downloading these songs from a peer sharing program, make sure they have gone through a virus scan before transferring them.

  • If you are sending over many files at once, you can left-click the first file, hold down the control button, and select each additional file. After all of your selections are highlighted, right-click one of the files and send to Bluetooth device.
