How to Make Screenshots From a Music Video
You can take a screenshot of a music video to preserve a memorable moment. You may also wish you use a screenshot from the music video as a still image for previews or a press package for the performer. Use any one of many free and readily available screen capture programs to grab shots from music videos playing on your computer.

Download a screen capture program if you do not already have one. Try ScreenShot freeware if you do not have a screen capture program in mind (see Resources). Adjustable screen capture ability is already built into your operating system if you use a Mac. However, try Skitch freeware if you are a Mac owner interested in an easy-to-use screen capture utility with many helpful additional features.

Play the video up until the point from which you want to take a screenshot. Pause the video at this point so that your desired image shows up as a still frame in your video player.

Expand the video player's viewer so that the still image is your desired size for the screenshot. Resize the video as per your player's instructions. Resizing is often as simple as clicking and dragging a corner of the player window.

Open your screen capture software. Engage its capture option so that you may select a portion of the screen. Mac users need only push Command+Shift+4 to enable the screen capture crosshairs.

Click and drag a box that only includes the picture of the music video that you wish to save.

Save the music video screenshot to your hard drive so that you may use or access it at any time.
