The headlight bulbs (also known as lamps) in a 2004 Toyota Celica are of halogen construction. Halogen headlight bulbs last a long time and provide bright light. Over time, these bulbs fail like any other and will need to be replaced. In the 2004 Celica, this is easy to do, but be careful that you don't touch the bulb's surface with your hands. The oils from your hands can cause premature failure to the bulb.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Celica'a hood. Reach behind the headlight and locate the bulb, which is plugged into a wiring harness. Depress the tab on the harness and remove it from the bulb.

    • 2

Hold the bulb at the socket point and twist it counterclockwise in the socket. Then pull out the bulb and discard it. If it has been used recently be careful, as it will be very hot.

    • 3

Hold the replacement bulb by the base and remove the protective styrofoam cover carefully with your hands, making sure not to touch the glass of the bulb with your hands (it's a good idea to wear clean cotton gloves). Then insert the bulb into the headlight assembly and turn it clockwise to lock it in place. Plug the wiring harness into the bottom of it until it clicks into place.
