How to Check Blackberry Mail on the Computer

BlackBerry Mail is an email account that you create on your BlackBerry handset and can only access through your phone. Unlike other email accounts, there is no interface to access BlackBerry Mail messages through your personal computer. The one workaround involves forwarding these messages through your BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) account so that you can view your BlackBerry Mail messages through another email account’s interface.

Instructions

1. Log in to your BIS website from your personal computer (This is usually your mobile service provider’s website). Click the link that takes you to the BIS settings.

2. Choose the BlackBerry email account in question. Click “Options.” Click “Forwarding emails.” Enter the information for the email account you wish to use to view your BlackBerry emails through. Click “Save” and exit.

3. Log in to the site for the email account your chose in Step 2 from your personal computer. Browse the email messages, which will include both those directed to the email account and those forwarded from the BlackBerry Mail account.

Tips & Warnings

• Choose a forwarding email account that is not currently linked to your BlackBerry device. Otherwise you will get two notifications for each email received; one for when it hits the BlackBerry Mail account and one for when it forwards to the email account.
