Upgrade to HD service

Comcast, one of the nation's largest cable providers, also gives subscribers the opportunity to receive HD cable programming for an additional $10 a month. You can receive more than 100 HD stations. But before you can begin enjoying your high definition video channels, you need to upgrade to the Comcast HDTV receiver box.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact Comcast and upgrade your service. If a service center is nearby you can pick up your new HD receiver. Or you can make an appointment for a technician to install the receiver.

    • 2

Connect the coaxial cable running from the wall into the "In" port on the back of the Comcast HDTV receiver box.

    • 3

Plug the HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on the Comcast receiver. Insert the opposite end of the HDMI cable into one of the "HDMI" ports on your television.

    • 4

Power on the Comcast HDTV receiver box and the HDTV. Press the "Input" button on your television's remote control and select "HDMI." Once the correct HDMI video input is selected, the Comcast cable programming appears on the screen. Use the Comcast remote control to find your favorite HD channels.
