How to Connect Dial-Up to Get Wireless Internet
Although a dial-up Internet connection is considerably slower than your typical DSL or cable Internet connection, you can still hook up a wireless router to your dial-up modem. This gives you the freedom to access the Web as long as you are in range of the router. However, it is best to only use one computer at a time, due to the slow nature of a dial-up connection.

1
Insert the first phone line cable into the phone like jack in your wall. Plug the opposite end of the cable into the "Internet" port on the back side of the dial-up Internet modem.
-
2
Connect a separate phone line into one of the "Out" ports on the dial-up modem. Insert the opposite end of the cable into a wireless router's "In" port (make sure you have a wireless router that supports a phone line cable).

3
Power on both the wireless router and the dial-up modem. Look on the bottom of the wireless router for a marked "http:" address. Launch the Internet browser on your computer and type this into the "URL" bar. Press "Enter" and the wireless router's activation page loads.
-
4
Type in "admin" for both the default username and passwords. Check off that you are using the router with a dial-up connection and select that you are using it either in a closed or shared setting (shared setting like at a coffee shop or book store). Click "OK" to save the preferences and close out the URL window. You are now free to access the wireless Internet.
