How to Clean Mayo From Leather
Leather is a popular material for a wide range of items including clothing, shoes, belts, handbags and furniture items. Since all of these items are used on a daily basis, eventually leather will develop a stain. One of the more worrisome stains is an oil-based stain such as mayonnaise. Although it may seem like the leather is ruined, you can remove the mayonnaise and restore the leather to a stain-free condition. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place an object with a dull, flat edge such as a butter knife at the base of the mayonnaise stain. Gently scrape the knife along the surface of the leather to remove as much of the mayonnaise as possible. Be careful not to damage the leather as you do this.
-
2
Place a towel on top of the mayonnaise stain and press down to soak up as much of the residual oil as possible. Rotate the towel to a clean section and press down again on the stain. Continue blotting the stain with the towel until no more mayonnaise or oil is visible on the towel.

3
Allow the stained area to dry for 24 hours.
-
4
Apply 1/2 tsp. of leather cleaner to a clean towel and gently rub the stained area with the conditioner. Make sure to rub the cleaner into the surrounding areas of the leather as well so the edge of the stain doesn't show.
-
5
Allow the leather cleaner to dry for the time recommended on the product packaging before using or wearing the leather.
