How to Use IRC Pidgin

Pidgin is an open-source instant messaging client that allows you to talk to other people through AIM, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, IRC and other chat protocols. If you want to use Pidgin to talk over the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) protocol, you can do so without creating a user account. All you need to know is the IRC serve rname to which you want to connect.

Instructions

      Start Pidgin, click the "Accounts" button and then click the "Add" button.

      Click the "Basic" tab and then select "IRC" from the "Protocol" drop-down menu.

      Enter the screen name you wish to use on IRC and then enter the server name you wish to connect to and the password you want to have on that server.

      Click the "Save" button and you are connected to the IRC server.
