How Do You Clean Plastic Blinds?
Plastic blinds become dusty and dirty over time. Plastic blinds come in a variety of colors and sizes. The blinds clean easily, and all-purpose surface cleaners work well to clean off blinds. Clean the blinds every couple of months to prevent dirt buildup and keep the blinds looking nice. Dusting the blinds every week or two also prevents dust buildup. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Long feather duster or dusting rags
- All-purpose surface spray
- Rags
- Dish soap
- Tub with water

Close the blinds. Wipe down the front and back of the blinds with a feather duster or dust rag.

Spray an all-purpose surface cleaner on the back and front of the blinds. Wipe off the blinds with a rag, scrubbing at any stains or spots with a clean rag.

Spray the adjustment rod, cords and top and bottom plastic pieces of the blinds. Wipe down with the rag.

Open the blinds to prevent wet blinds from sticking together. Allow the blinds to air-dry.

Tips & Warnings
If the dirt is exceptionally bad, take down the blinds and soak them overnight in a tub filled with warm water and mild dish soap. Use a cloth to gently wipe the slats, rinse the blind with warm water, and dry them off with a clean cloth.
Don't use a cleaner with bleach in it; the bleach can whiten colored blinds or stain surrounding surfaces.
