Aloe vera is a succulent plant that has been used for years to treat burns and heal skin wounds. Aloe vera also makes a great natural moisturizer for dry skin. Ready-made aloe vera skin moisturizer can be purchased but you can also easily make your own at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Aloe vera plant
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Knife
  • Small bowl

Instructions

      Snap a large leaf off of the aloe plant, and slit it lengthwise with a knife.

      Remove the gel -- the translucent liquid on the inside of the plant -- from the inside of the leaf and put it in the bowl.

      Add 1 tablespoon of organic extra virgin olive oil to the bowl. Mix well.

Tips & Warnings

  • After washing your face, apply a thin layer of the aloe vera skin moisturizer in the morning as well as in the evening before going to bed. Store any leftover moisturizer in the refrigerator for up to five days.
