How to Clean the Print Head on a Canon IP90 Printer

The Canon IP90 printer is a color printer for use with your PC or laptop. A printer head is what your computer uses to dispense ink onto the paper. Eventually this printer head can become dirty or clogged from repeated use. You should periodically clean the printer head as part of your regular printer maintenance. You can clean the printer head on your Canon IP90 in several steps.

• Isopropyl alcohol
• Cotton swab

Instructions

Cleaning with Software

1. Click on the “Start” button, then click on the “Printers and Faxes” icon.

2. Right-click on your Canon IP90, then click on “Printing Preferences.”

3. Click on the tab labeled “Maintenance” and select the “Deep Cleaning” option. Your computer will now automatically clean the printer head. Allow the process to complete, which will take several minutes.

Manual Cleaning

1. Remove the printer cartridge from your Canon IP90.

2. Dip your cotton swab in the isopropyl alcohol and gently rub the top of your printer head, which is located beneath the cartridge.

3. Allow the alcohol to dry, then replace your cartridge.
