How to Create a Squeeze Page With a Different Domain Name
If you create a squeeze with a different domain name from your main e-commerce website you will be able to easily and quickly create a mailing list of people interested in what you have to sell. A squeeze page is a one-page website that is used to gather the names and emails of people who want to know when you update your main e-commerce website, when you're having a sale, when you're giving stuff away or other important information. When you use a squeeze page with its own domain name you are giving yourself the opportunity to reach more people than just those who find your e-commerce website via search engines.

1
Purchase a domain name. You can buy a domain name at GoDaddy.com or Bravenet.com to name two places.
-
2
Choose a website host. Several hosts offer free hosting with no ads. Since a squeeze page is a one-page website it may not always make sense to pay for website hosting.
-
3
Select a squeeze page template that you like and download it to your computer. You can find free squeeze page templates at FreeWebTemplates.me, SalesPageTemplates.net and FreeSqueezePageTemplates.com.
-
4
Download the squeeze page template to your computer and then upload it to your website host. Upload it by going to your website host's site and logging into your account. Once you've done that, click on "File Manager" and then use the upload tool, which is usually located at the top of the File Manager and upload your squeeze page template.
-
5
Edit your squeeze page template. There is usually an icon or button to the far right of the file in your File Manager that will open up a window that will allow you to edit your squeeze page template with your information, including your autoresponder code. If you don't have an autoresponder, you can get one free at FreeAutobot.com or FreeFollowUp.com to name two places. Both of these will create for you the HTML code for your autoresponder and then simply place the code where you want the sign up form to appear on your squeeze page.
-
6
Save the changes you made to your squeeze page template and go to your "Account Profile." The link for this is usually located on the same page as the link for your "File Manager."
-
7
Go to the "Add Your Own Domain" section in your "Account Profile." Type in the domain name that you purchased and then save the information by clicking "Add My Own Domain Name Now."
-
8
Add the name servers for your website host to your new domain name. You can do this by going to the website you purchased your domain name from and logging into your account. Click on your domain name and then click on the link labeled "Manage Name Servers." You can find the name servers for your website host on your "Account Profile" page where you added your domain name. Copy and paste the name servers for your website host into the fields indicated on your domain name account. Click on the "Update Name Servers" button. It can take up to 48 hours for a change in name servers to take effect.
-
9
Advertise your squeeze page. You can do this by submitting your squeeze page to popular search engines such as Google or Yahoo. To submit your squeeze page to Google go to Google.com/addurl. To submit your squeeze page to Yahoo go to Siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit/. You can also add your squeeze page to social media sites such as Diigo.com and StumbleUpon.com to name a few.

Tips & Warnings
If the idea of managing an autoresponder isn't worth it to you, consider creating a yahoo group instead and pasting a sign-up box for it on your squeeze page.
Offer a freebie when someone signs up.
Place a link to your e-commerce website on your squeeze page so people can also visit your e-commerce website.
Tell readers the benefits of signing up for your list on your squeeze page.
Keep the wording on your squeeze page short and to the point. A long squeeze page that is really the equivalent of four or five pages is going to turn readers off and cause them to leave.
