KBC develops the BIOS settings for the Hewlett-Packard laptop. Sometimes these settings must be adjust if you want to boot from a USB device or CD/DVD or perhaps change the default behavior of the function keys. Sometimes the operating system starts to act a little funky, not properly recognizing the hardware. Whatever the reason for resetting the BIOS settings, doing so is extremely simple.

      Restart the computer.

      Immediately press and hold "F10" as the computer starts up to boot into the BIOS screen. Depending on the model, the BIOS may be accessed via the "F2" or "F6" keys - try these if "F10" does not work.

      Press "F9" while the BIOS screen is loaded to reset the factory default settings. Confirm the selection. Press "F10" to save the changes and exit the BIOS settings. The computer will restart, the settings will be restored to default and the operating system will start up.
