How Do I Become an Elevator Repairman?
Elevator repairers work to maintain elevators by repairing them when they are broken and upgrading those that are old models. Their work also includes greasing parts and replacing parts as they wear out---all of which contributes to preventing elevator accidents. These professionals also work with other mechanical equipment in buildings such as dumbwaiters, escalators, moving walkways and chairlifts. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, elevator repairers made a salary range of around $19 per hour to around $46 per hour in 2008.
