Insert source code in Outlook 2007.

You can use source code to display contents of an e-newsletter (containing hypertext markup language) correctly in your email. Outlook 2007 doesn't include an option that allows you to enter source code directly into a message. According to Microsoft Office Online, Outlook 2007 uses an email editor that's based on Word 2007, which is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) program. Nevertheless, you can create source code with different software and then insert it into Outlook 2007.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Notepad or your favorite text editor and create the source code you want to use in Outlook 2007. Save the file with a ".txt" extension and close it.

    • 2

Go to Microsoft Outlook 2007 and create a new message, then place your cursor where you'd like the source code to appear within the message.

    • 3

Click on the "Insert" tab and select "Attach File."

    • 4

Browse to find the text file you saved in step 1 and select it.

    • 5

Click on the drop-down arrow beside "Insert" in the dialog box and choose "Insert as Text." The source code you created in your text editor will appear as HTML in your email message.
