How to Adjust Leki Wanderfreund Hiking Poles
A Leki Wanderfreund hiking pole adjusts from 29 to 52 inches in length. It has a multi-med grip handle that is designed to be gripped from the top to be used as a cane or from the side to be used as a trekking pole depending on the terrain. Its three-section design and adjustability make it a versatile pole.
Instructions
-
Cane Length and Hiking Length
-
1
Turn the pole over so that the handle is pressed against a hard surface.
-
2
Twist the three section connectors in a gentle counterclockwise motion to loosen the segments for adjusting.
-
-
3
Compress the pole against the hard surface to shorten all three sections.
-
4
Loosen the pressure on the pole so that it extends until the tip reaches the inside of your wrist with your arm and hand extended naturally while in normal stance. Then, apply pressure against the pole so that it remains that length.
-
5
Tighten each section to adjust them to the proper length for utilizing the pole at a cane length.
-
6
Extend the pole until it is 3 inches below your armpit. Tighten the pole sections so that it remains at hiking-pole length.

Tips & Warnings
When adjusted properly the pole will provide better balance and footing while decreasing leg fatigue. If you notice that you are leaning or reaching to obtain a comfortable walking position it is time to adjust your pole length.
