If you like listening to music or watching music videos, or watching any kind of videos on your computer, you are no doubt familiar with Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player allows you to enjoy all different kinds of media on your computer without needing any special and expensive software since it comes pre-installed on your Windows computer. The Windows Live service lets you embed other popular Microsoft applications, such as Windows Media Player, into a collaborative, social networking environment.

Instructions

      Download and install the current version of the Windows Media Player from the website microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx.

      Click the "Start" button and click on the "Computer" button.

      Click on the "Local Disc C:" device. Next, click on the "Program Files" folder. Search through the contents of this folder for the folder labeled as "Windows Media Player."

      Right-click on this folder. From the right-click options, click the "Delete" option to make the newly downloaded player your default one. If you are prompted to confirm the delete, confirm it.

      Download and install Windows Live services from download.live.com. After the application downloads, select the "Install" menu option and choose the services on your computer that you desire to convert or make available as Windows Live service inputs followed by the "Ok" menu button.

      Restart your computer and your Windows media player files will be converted into Windows Live media player.
