How Can I Record Songs on My Phone?

Many cell phones nowadays feature voice recorders, which you can use to record sounds. What's advantageous about voice recorders is that you can record songs on your phone with them and then use those songs as ringtones without having to incur a text message charge to send a song to your phone or having to purchase a ringtone through your cell phone service provider. If you want to record songs on your phone, you can do so with any device that has speakers.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Media library
• Song
• Cell phone with voice recorder

Instructions

1. Launch your computer's media player. Open the song that you want to record on your phone. Fast forward the song to the section at which you want to begin recording. Click "Pause."

2. Open your cell phone. Click "Menu." Click "Media." Click "Voice Recorder."

3. Make sure that your computer's volume is not muted and that it is turned up to clearly audible level. Place your cell phone close to the speakers. Press "Record" on your cell phone. Then immediately press "Play" on your music player.

4. Press "Stop" on your cell phone when you are finished recording. Then press "Stop" on your media player. Click "Save" on your cell phone to name and save your recorded song.

Tips & Warnings

• Locate the song you recorded in your cell phone's "My Sounds" folder. Click "Menu." Click "Media." Click "Music & Tones." Click "My Sounds." Then set the sound as your ringtone by clicking "Set As" and "Ringtone."

• You can use an MP3 player, iPod or stereo to play your song rather than your computer if you wish.

• Eliminate any background noise like a television or people talking before you record songs on your phone; otherwise those sounds will be in your recording.
