How to Install Windows XP to a PSP

If you've seen other PSP owners who seem to have Microsoft Windows XP installed on their devices you might want it yourself. While your PSP can look like it's running Windows XP, the operating system itself cannot be installed. While you can't install the operating system you can make your PSP look like it has it installed. You can install a portal, or theme, that looks and acts just like Windows XP. The portal that makes your PSP look like Windows XP is "pspWxp."

Instructions

    • 1

Download pspWxp from the official website (see Resources).

    • 2

Right click the pspWxp file and click "Extract All." Double click the "pspWxp" folder to open it. Connect your PSP via USB cable to the computer.

    • 3

Double click "install.exe" in the pspXwp folder. Once the installation has finished, unplug your PSP from the computer.

    • 4

Open the Internet browser on your PSP. Enter "file:/pspWxp/index.htm" into the address bar and click "Enter."

    • 5

Press the triangle to hide the PSP toolbars (and press it again to show them). You will now have the Windows XP portal running on your PSP.
