How to View MSN Download Manager in Vista

When downloading content through an MSN site or service (such as MSN.com, Hotmail or MSN Chat) the MSN Download Manager appears on your computer screen. The manager informs you of the time left for the download to complete, and then walks you through the installation process. Oftentimes the manager runs behind your Web browser, but if you are using the Vista operating system and want to view the MSN Download Manager you have the ability to do so.

Instructions

      Find the MSN download you want to access. This can be a special wink for your instant messenger or an add-on for Internet Explorer.

      Click the "Download" option and the download manager appears on your screen. Move the Web browser off to the side of your screen (click the top of the browser screen and drag it). This gives you a clear view of the download manager.

      Watch the download's progress as the content downloads to your computer.

      Double click the download once it completes. Since you are watching the MSN Download Manager you can know instantly when the download is complete. This starts up the installation process.

      Click "Next" on the Download Manager screen, then follow the remainder of the prompts to complete the installation process.
