How to Convert LP Records to a Digital Mac
Converting your record collection to digital is easier than it sounds. Once you convert it to digital, you will be able to take your favorite recordings everywhere you go. And for LP enthusiasts, your new digital recordings will have the authentic sound of an LP. To complete the task you only need one cable plugged into your Mac computer and the software of your choice to record the actual sound coming into your computer.

Plug the audio input cable into the "Audio or Line Out" jack on your turntable.

Plug the other end of the cable into your Mac's "Audio In" port.

Select "System Preferences" from the Apple Menu on your Mac. Then select the "Sound" icon.

Set the "Input" inside the "Sound" menu to "Line In."

Open your software. If you do not have software to record your incoming audio, you can use a free software like Audacity for Mac computers.

Go to the software's "Preferences" menu and make sure the software is set to record audio from the "Line-In" input.

Press the "Record" option on your software to start the recording.

Drop the needle on your record and play it.

Press the stop option on your record to stop recording, and then save the file. You will be allowed to choose the file's new digital format in the "Save" menu.
