Instructions

    • 1

Select a plastic basin that is deeper than the volume of water you plan to add. It also will need to accommodate the sheet plastic where the water will fall. A larger volume of water will make the sound of the falling water louder. Less water will decrease the sound. Consider this while choosing your basin, which can be bought at any lawn and garden center.

    • 2

Place the electric pump inside the basin. Follow the instructions from the manufacturer and connect the plastic tubing.

    • 3

Add the sheet plastic to the basin. It's not necessary to cover to bottom of the basin with the sheet plastic, however, it should slightly cover the submersible pump and be mounted vertically or at an angle. The sheet plastic will act as the waterfall, so mounting it vertically is ideal. Place plastic tubing at the top.

    • 4

Add the stones or rocks to the basin floor and on top of the sheet plastic. Make sure to give the stones a natural appearance, placing them on top of each other, hiding any of the plastic tubing and giving them a stacked appearance.

    • 5

Use the cord from the electric water pump and plug it into an electrical outlet. Test the waterfall.

    • 6

Unplug the waterfall and rearrange the stones until you have your desired look.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check water level often because it will eventually evaporate. Failing to do so could result in damage to your electric water pump.

  • Most lawn and garden stores will carry indoor waterfall kits.
