3
Remove two screws at the bottom of the battery bay.
-
4
Pry off the rubber feet on the bottom of the DS with the flathead screwdriver. Beneath each rubber foot is a screw. Unscrew those screws with the Phillips screwdriver.
-
5
Remove the last four screws on the back of the DS with a tri-wing screwdriver. One of the four screws is in the upper portion of the back, near the game slot.
-
6
Run a flathead screwdriver in the crevice between the front and back covers to separate them. Once separated, lift up the bottom cover with your hands.

7
Pull off the two trigger buttons from the front cover with your hands. There is a spring holding the trigger button assembly together, so be careful.

8
Pry off the flat, circular heads of the white and black wires connected to the motherboard with the flathead screwdriver. Thread the black wire beneath the game card slot. Be careful; sometimes the wire gets stuck when it is being threaded through. Take your time.

9
Use the Phillips screwdriver to unfasten the screw holding the motherboard to the plastic cover. The screw is in the middle of the left side of the motherboard.

10
Lift up the black plastic tab to remove the ribbon cable on the motherboard with the flathead screwdriver.

11
Lift the motherboard and connected screen up from the plastic cover. Release the ribbon cable connecting the front of the motherboard to the front cover by using the flathead screwdriver to lift up the black tab holding the ribbon cable in place.

12
Go back to the front plastic cover of your DS and remove the four rubber pieces inside by prying them off with the flathead screwdriver. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws beneath the rubber pieces.
-
13
Separate the two plastic pieces that make up the front cover of the DS by using the flathead screwdriver to pry them apart.
