How to Listen to an iPod Via Bluetooth

Unplug your headphones and listen to your iPod via Bluetooth.

There may be occasions when the wires of your iPod's headphones get in the way. A Bluetooth device allows to to listen to your iPod Touch with a wireless headset. You can also use this feature to listen to music and podcasts through Bluetooth-enabled speakers and car stereos.

Things You'll Need

• iPod touch
• Bluetooth-enabled headphones or speakers

Instructions

1. Set your Bluetooth device to search for other compatible devices. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the headphones, speakers or car stereo--they vary by item and brand.

2. Tap the "Settings" icon from the home screen on your iPod Touch. Scroll down to the third group of options and tap "General," then "Bluetooth."

3. Tap the "On/Off" icon to the right of "Bluetooth" to enable your iPod to search for discoverable devices. When you turn this feature on, a list of detected devices will appear.

4. Select the Bluetooth device you wish to use by tapping the name of that device.

5. Enter a password for the Bluetooth device if prompted. If a password is needed, refer to the manual for your headphones or speakers to find or set the password.

6. Check the top of the screen to ensure the "Bluetooth" icon is present and is shown in blue or white, meaning the iPod is connected.
