If you lose or damage your SIM card, you will have to be shipped a new one from your cell phone provider. You can protect yourself by backing up your SIM card, using a small, simple USB SIM card reader.

      Buy a SIM Card reader. look for one that has the most compatibility; some SIM card readers can read generation 5 SIM cards. Some T-Mobile cards have 64kb of memory, so make sure that your SIM card reader supports 64kb SIM cards.

      Install the SIM card reader using the included driver CD. The CD should autostart when you put it into your computer; just press "Install" and follow the on-screen commands.

      Plug the USB device into your computer and plug your SIM card into it.

      Browse to "My Computer" and click on the SIM Card.

      Copy all files on the SIM card and paste them into a new folder on your desktop. Now, if you should lose or damage your card, simply insert a blank card and copy the files onto the card.
