How to Find Inexpensive Contemporary Vanities for the Bathroom

A few changes to your bathroom can make it quickly look as if you did a whole renovation. Redoing bathrooms can be expensive, but using a few tricks, you can keep your bathroom makeover under budget. Changing the paint will work wonders into transforming the bathroom; adding new, updated fixtures is an inexpensive way to revamp an aging bathroom; and installing a new vanity will give your bathroom whole new look. To save money, there are several different places that you can seek out to find a beautiful vanity to complete your bathroom update.

Instructions

1. Go to a near by antique store. You will be able to find vanities of different shapes and styles that you can purchase. Used vanities can be sanded and re-stained (for very little money) to make it look like new. You can even purchase a small dresser to turn into a vanity. Simply cut a large hole into the top of the dresser to hold the sink and add a mirror to the wall above it. You'll have a unique sink vanity with plenty of storage space as well.

2. Shop local garage and estate sales. Check local newspapers listings for where and when these sales will be. You can find great stuff at very low prices. Think creatively: you can turn an old, ornate desk into a very cool and contemporary vanity for you bathroom.

3. Visit a pawn shop. Many pawn shops like to collect furniture because they can have good resale value, even if they're old. A pawn shop may have what you're looking for. If they don't talk to they workers of the shop. Pawn shops deal with a lot of different antiques and furniture collectors/sellers--they may be able to refer to someone that has a vanity.
