1
Track all of your eBay receipts, as well as off of your expenses, throughout the year. It is important to have this information for tax filing.
-
2
Download a copy of Schedule C from the IRS website, or purchase a tax preparation software package that includes support for Schedule C. Schedule C is the form small business owners and self-employed individuals use to report the profit or loss from their small businesses.

3
Complete the schedule C by listing all of the information you compiled throughout the year. If you use an accounting software package you can simply transfer those figures to the appropriate spot on the Schedule C. This schedule also provides the ability to enter the cost of goods sold, as well as legitimate business expenses.

4
Complete the Schedule C and follow the instructions for transferring the figures to your personal 1040 form. The income reported on this schedule will be transferred to your personal tax return, where it will be used to determine how much you owe in taxes.
