How to Dye Brown Hair Lighter
With all of the hair care and chemical hair dye options available, it can be difficult to choose the right solution to give you a desired shade of light brown. You can, however, easily lighten brown hair through the use of rhubarb. Dying your hair via natural products is a much healthier alternative for your hair, as opposed to treating it with harsh chemicals that may or may not give you the desired shade. The process for dying your hair naturally with rhubarb can be done in less than an hour or two, and you won't have to buy anything from your salon. Does this Spark an idea?

Place 4 cups of water into a pot and bring the water to a boil.

Immerse 1/2 cup of rhubarb in the boiling water. Allow the mixture to boil for a half hour then strain the rhubarb and allow the water to cool.

Add in 1/2 cup of citrus agent such as orange, lemon or pineapple juice to the water and stir.

Wash your hair then pat or towel dry, leaving it slightly damp. Apply the entire solution to your hair using a spray bottle. Leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off.

Repeat the process to achieve your desired shade. This process is gradual and can take up to 15 applications before you achieve your desired lightness.

Tips & Warnings
You can use chamomile flowers or henna, using this same process for different variations of shade.
Use the solution when it is just slightly above room temperature for best results.
Avoid eye contact with the solution.
Ensure that you let the solution significantly cool prior to application.
