Instructions

  1. Instructions

    • 1

Gather the wide-mouth jars you plan to use as candle holders. The jars can be the same height and shape, or they can be various shapes and sizes. The jars can also be either clear or colored.

    • 2

Decide how far down from the post or tree limbs you want the jars to hang.

    • 3

Cut two pieces of wire that are the length you want, plus enough to wrap around the mouth of the jar and another 6 inches. It is always best to have more wire then you need, rather than not enough.

    • 4

Grab one of the wires a few inches from an end. Wrap once around the mouth of the jar. Twist the short end and the long end together two or three times to secure. Repeat with the second piece of wire, securing on the other side of the jar.

    • 5

Glue on any embellishments. You could use beads, ribbon, buttons, glass objects or any other items.

    • 6

Bring the wires together above the jar. Using all of the wire, make a loop, leaving enough to wrap the bottom of the loop around the rest of the wire to make the loop secure.

    • 7

Place a votive candle inside the jar and hang in your designated spot to enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • To ensure that your jar hangs straight, be sure both pieces of wire are secured directly across the jar from each other.

  • You can add sand or rocks to the bottom of your jar to hold the candle in place and to decorate the jar even more.
