How to Use Vinegar to Treat Blemishes

A substance used in many home remedies, vinegar actually helps to treat blemishes by balancing your skin’s pH level. The vinegar dries out oily skin and helps to clean pores while it kills bacteria. Since commercial products can be expensive, vinegar provides a much cheaper alternative. Vinegar contains a high acidic level, so you will need to ensure that you dilute it with filtered water to protect your skin from irritation. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Mix as much solution as you need, but keep the solution at a 1 to1 ratio, using approximately 50 percent apple cider vinegar mixed with 50 percent distilled water.

    • 2

Dip a cotton swab into the solution. Test a small area of your skin to ensure that you do not have any allergies to the vinegar. If you notice redness or mild skin irritation, then immediately discard the solution.

    • 3

Apply the vinegar solution to the blemishes. Use fresh cotton swabs if you are covering a large area such as your back. Continue to apply the solution twice daily until you see results, usually in three to four days.

    • 4

Discard the solution after each use. Make a new batch each time you need to apply the vinegar solution to treat blemishes.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a much milder solution to aid in removing the blemishes, combine 20 percent of apple cider vinegar to 80 percent filtered water. Apply the solution until the blemishes disappear.
