How to Use the Composite TV Out Adapter Cable
A composite TV out adapter cable enables a connection between a television with an RCA-style video jack and a device with a different video connection, such as a computer. The adapter has a yellow RCA video plug on one end and a different connector on the opposite end. Standard connection adapters include VGA (video graphics array) and S-Video. The type of jack on the device for connecting to the TV will dictate the type of adapter.

1
Check the back of the device that will be used with the adapter to connect to the TV. Look for either a four-sided VGA jack containing 15 holes arranged in three rows, or a round S-Video jack with four holes. Choose a composite OUT adapter with one of these connectors on the opposite end. An example of the adapter is linked in the reference section.

2
Insert an RCA video cable into the video jack on the back of the television. Match the yellow plug to the yellow jack on the TV.

3
Connect the plug on the other end of the adapter to a compatible video device, such as a computer's monitor jack. If using VGA, the plug inserts straight into the jack with the wider side turned upward, then tighten the locking bolt on each side of the plug. The S-Video plug pushes straight into the jack.

4
Turn on the TV and the connected device.

5
Press the "Input" button on the TV repeatedly until the signal from the other device appears on the screen.
