How to Connect a Wireless LAN to Wireless Internet

Wireless Internet is a term used to refer to a wireless network that enables users to navigate the Web. Wireless LAN is a wireless card or device that comes with many laptop computers and enables you to connect to wireless Internet.

      Turn on your laptop computer. Log in to Windows.

      Make sure your wireless card is turned on. If there is a switch on the outside of your laptop for your wireless card, turn the switch to the "on" position.

      Click the wireless icon in the bottom right hand corner. The icon will differ depending on the manufacturer of your laptop. Often, it looks like an antenna with wireless waves emanating from the device.

      Select the wireless Internet network you want to join. Click the network name, and then click the "connect" button. If you choose a password protected network, you will need to have the password to join that network. After you click the "connect" button, you should be connected to the wireless Internet.
