How to Boost Volume on Sony MP3 Walkman

The new Sony Walkman no longer plays audio cassette tapes. Instead, the small, portable electronics device now plays MP3 audio. With the MP3 player you can listen to just about anything. However, if you are in a loud area and you need to boost the audio volume to your Sony Walkman you may need to try a few different steps before you obtain the level of audio you are looking for.

1. Plug in noise-canceling headphones. These headphones help prevent the sound from the outside world from entering your ears while wearing the headphones. Most noise-canceling headphones fit completely over your ears.

2. Connect the audio jack into the headphone port all the way. If your cable is not completely inserted, you can actually only receive half the audio signal.

3. Check your headphones for an audio volume control. Some headphones have a separate volume control. Turn this all the way up. Doing so allows you to completely adjust the volume with the Sony Walkman.

4. Press the "Volume Up" button on the side of the Sony MP3 player. Continue to do so until you have reached the level of audio you want.
