Instructions

    • 1

Use a dry cloth and remove any dust from your brass piece.

    • 2

Wear protective gloves, and pour some of your brass polish onto a dry soft cloth. A little goes a long way. Be sure to wear gloves because the oils that are on your hands will cause the brass to tarnish even more.

    • 3

Rub the polish into the brass in small circles working only on a small area at a time. You should notice the tarnish starting to disappear while doing this.

    • 4

Pour a little dab of polish into a small, empty container or a small and flat object that can be thrown away when you are done. Dip the toothbrush into the polish and proceed to use it to get into the creases and crevices of your brass piece.

    • 5

Buff the brass with a dry cloth until the polish is gone and it is shiny.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make your own brass polish by mixing a few drops of citrus oil with a little salt, a tiny bit of flour, and about a cup of vinegar.

  • Do not use any brass polishes that contain abrasives.
