Receive an automatic update. TurboTax will automatically check for updates when the the program is started. You must be hooked up to the Internet in order for this process to take place. Also be sure to set your update preferences to download updates immediately instead of later.

Update on demand. This feature allows you to check for updates by selecting Check for Updates from the Online menu or the TurboTax menu if you have a Mac.

Manually update files. Use this to update your files if the other two methods are not working. This might require the use of a CD if you don't have Internet connection. You can order the free update by contacting TurboTax via the customer help page.
