How to Fix Motorcycle Tire With Leaking Valve Stem
Fixing a motorcycle tire with a leaky valve stem requires that the valve stem be replaced. Whether it's a road bike or a dirt bike, changing the valve stem is a pretty simple fix. The only difference between the two is that a dirt bike has a tube that the valve stem is connected to, requiring that the entire tube be replaced. A road bike is tubeless, and the valve stem is located in the motorcycle rim.
Instructions
-
Road Bike
-
1
Remove the tire from the motorcycle.
-
2
Using a flat-head screwdriver, push the valve stem from the outside to the inside to remove the valve stem.
-
-
3
Position the new valve stem at the hole of the rim, from inside the rim.
-
4
Using a valve stem puller, thread the end of the valve stem onto the valve stem puller.
-
5
Pull up on the valve stem puller from the inside of the rim, then pivot the pull handle to where it's against the rim, creating leverage. This will pop the valve stem right into place.

Tips & Warnings
When changing the tube in a motorcycle tire, it is very important to clean the inside of the tire and the rim where the tube makes contact. This will help prevent the tube from bursting during use.
