How to Create a Frosted Champagne Purple Eye for Special Occasions

A special occasion calls for a special kind of makeup look. The eyelids shine with a frosted champagne purple eyeshadow offset by plum on the browbone and black lined eyes. This work works best for evening occasions only. Wearing the hair in a high updo will flatter this makeup in the best way. Any skin color or eye color can wear this look. Lighter skin tones may notice that the pigment appears more pale on their skin than on darker tones. This becomes less noticeable the longer the makeup remains on the skin.

Things You'll Need

• Eye primer
• Flesh toned cream eyeshadow
• Frosted lavender eyeshadow
• Shadow brush
• Dark plum eyeshadow
• Pencil brush
• Blending brush
• Pearlized pink eyeshadow
• Black eyeshadow
• Liner brush (for plum eyeshadow)
• Black liquid eyeliner
• Black mascara

Instructions

1. Pat eye primer onto your eyelid with your fingers. Eye primer is a cream or gel placed on the eyelid to prevent the creasing of eyeshadow.

2. Use your fingers to apply a flesh-toned cream eye shadow to your eyelid and your browbone. This serves as the base for the eye shadows so that they appear more pigmented.

3. Apply a lavender eyeshadow to the eyelid with a shadow brush.

4. Apply a dark plum eye shadow to the outer corner of the eye with a pencil brush. Use a blending brush to pull the color inward toward the crease of the eye and upward toward the browbone.

5. Apply a pearlized pink eyeshadow to the upper browbone using a shadow brush. This will give the browbone a subtle sheen.

6. Use a pencil brush to apply black eye shadow to the crease of your eyelid and blend. To do this, gently sweep the brush back and forth (from the outside of the eye inward) two or three times.

7. Use a liner brush to apply the plum eyeshadow to the lower lash line.

8. Line the upper and lower lash lines with a black liquid eyeliner. Work carefully to ensure a straight line of eyeliner on the upper lash line.

9. Apply black mascara to the upper lash line only.

Tips & Warnings

• Sheer pink lipgloss will complement this look nicely.
