How to Separate a FLAC File
FLAC files, or Free Lossless Audio Codecs, are among the most widely supported file types for both PC and Mac users. They are similar to MP3s, except more compressed and of higher quality. Any regular CD player or MP3 player can play FLAC files. QuickTime Player, free for download from Apple, allows its users to view their files in individual player windows, creating an easy work flow for editing files. Users may want to cut down their FLAC files to sound bytes for Internet radio shows or for editing in QuickTime or other programs.
