Instructions

  1. Getting Started

    • 1

Become a member of the Ezine site. Visit Ezinearticles.com/submit, or click the link in the resources section below. Be sure you are online on a secure connection because you will need to give some personal information, such as your email address, full name, home address and phone number.

    • 2

Review the editorial guidelines. These are the stipulations your articles must meet to be considered for Ezine. For example, your work must be made up of only original content and must follow grammatical and mechanical standards.

    • 3

Familiarize yourself with the proper article format. This includes capitalizing each major word in your title and including your full name for a proper byline. Your article must also be "keyword-rich," meaning it must contain frequent use of relevant keywords to make your article accessible in popular search engines.

    • 4

Understand the author's terms of service. Submitting an article to Ezine means allowing your articles to be used in any number of ways, including blogs, newspaper articles and magazine articles.

    • 5

Submit up to 10 articles. All new Ezine members are allowed to submit 10 articles on their desired topic initially. The Ezine team will then analyze these articles for quality. If your work meets their standards, you will be upgraded to "platinum status" which allows you to submit as many articles as you like.

    Submitting your Article

    • 6

Sign in to your account. Once you sign in, you should be forwarded to the "Author's Area Homepage." Under the title and category bar on this page, click on the link that reads "Submit an Article." This will forward you to the submission page.

    • 7

Select a category and subcategory that pertains to your article. For example, if you are writing an article on Disney cartoons, you would select the category "Arts and Entertainment" followed by the subcategory "Animation" or "Movies-TV"---whichever is most relevant to your article.

    • 8

Enter your article title. Again, be sure to capitalize every major word in the title, such as "How Walt Disney Cartoons Changed Childhood." This title must contain fewer than 100 characters. Check for spelling and punctuation before submitting. Then include a two- to five-sentence abstract of your article. This should briefly tease as to what the article pertains to while elaborating on the title. This should not be written in paragraph form.

    • 9

Copy and paste your article into the section titled "Article Body." For most writers, it is best to copy and paste saved articles from your word processing software as opposed to typing directly into the box. Check the word count box below to be sure your article fits within 250 to 5,000 words.

    • 10

Submit a few keywords that will help users find your article if searching for it in a search engine. Using the previous example, some keywords could include Disney, cartoons or kids movies. Separate each keyword with a comma. You can submit your article by clicking the "Submit this Article" button on the bottom of the page. You will need to select the "Yes" box to acknowledge that you are familiar with the author's agreement and are submitting 100 percent original content.
