Instructions

    • 1

In a small saucepan, bring ¼ cup organic apple cider vinegar to a boil.

    • 2

Take off heat, and add one crushed vitamin C tablet, the contents of one green tea teabag, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper or cinnamon, the contents of one milk thistle capsule and contents of one dandelion root capsules (if using) and a few drops of peppermint oil. Throw empty capsules away.

    • 3

Stir the mixture, and let it steep at least half an hour.

    • 4

Strain the mixture by pouring it through the coffee filter into the small bowl. Throw the dirty coffee filter away.

    • 5

Open one of the gauze pads and carefully remove the strips, being careful not to touch the sticky area.

    • 6

Dip the paintbrush it into the herbal mixture, and paint the center of the gauze pad. When the gauze pad is thoroughly covered with the mixture, set it aside and repeat with the other pad.

    • 7

Place one pad on the sole of your right foot, directly in the center, the sticky side facing your skin. Press the edges for about 10 seconds to be sure you have good adhesion. Repeat with the other pad, placing it on your left foot.

    • 8

Put on a pair of socks to keep the pads from falling off.

    • 9

Remove the pads after 12 hours. You should notice that they're dirty, showing that they've drawn out toxins from your body.

    • 10

Repeat every 24 hours until the pads look as clean as when you first put them on. This lets you know the detoxing process is complete. If it's too hard to tell if the pads look cleaner each time, simply repeat the process for three to seven days as part of your detox regimen.

Tips & Warnings

  • It's best to do this at night before going to bed so the pads won't fall off as easily because you won't be walking around.

  • Buying the above ingredients and making your own detox foot pads will allow you to make many more of the patches than if buying them pre-made.

  • Because of the cayenne or cinnamon and peppermint oil, the pads might feel warm on your feet. If you develop a sensitivity or they feel uncomfortable, discontinue use and wash the area with mild soap and cool water.

  • Wash hands thoroughly after handling the mixture, and avoid getting it in your eyes. If you do get it in your eyes, flush with cool water.
